'Roots of Resonance: The Baobab Tree Project' explores the deep connection between the baobab tree, cowhide, and the cultural importance of sound and vibration - inspired by the myth of the Negarit drum. Historically, the Negarit was a large drum used during the Kingdom of Abyssinia as a symbol of power and for communication. 

The paintings in this project capture the essence of the baobab tree and the transformative role of drums in the community. Often made with cowhide drumheads, these drums are more than instruments; they become the heartbeat of communities, essential for communication, celebration, and healing.
